Härligt att det finns boots, I love dom!

Karen Chaton - 2nd Place
Karen ChatonKaren Chaton and her horse, Granite Chief +/, logged 2,350 American Endurance Ride Conference (AERC) miles last year wearing Easyboot Epics. They won the 2005 AERC National Mileage Championship and were second in the $10,000 EasyCare Hoof Boot Contest.* In addition, Chief won the Arabian Horse Association’s Distance Horse of the Year award and received his Supreme Legion of Honor.

During the ride season, Karen and Chief successfully completed three 3-day rides of 150+ miles, three 5-day rides of 250+ miles and one 6-day ride over 300 miles (all done in Easyboot Epics). Chief became stronger with each event, and the duo finished with a 100% completion record!

Karen has logged a total of 17,000 AERC miles since 1995--a testament to her knowledge and ability as a distance rider. She is always looking for new and better ways to keep her horses healthy and sound. "When I heard about the new Epics and found that I could use them on my horse without worrying about them coming off his bare hooves," she says, "I thought they would be worth trying. My horse Granite Chief+/ had won the National Mileage Championship in 2004, so I already knew what he was capable of. I wanted to see how he would handle competing while barefoot with the use of these new hoof boots.

"We pulled his shoes off on a Wednesday evening, and the following Saturday he completed a rather difficult 50 mile ride, barefoot and with the new Epics. From that point forward, he has continued to wear the boots and completed more than 2000 miles in the 2005 ride season in them. For the second year in a row, he won 1st place in National Mileage!

I think the most important accomplishment this year is that he has stayed sound and has not been footsore at all. He had such a fantastic year, coming home from every single ride in great shape, from his feet up! His legs are always tight and cool. He travels well in the boots in all types of terrain. We have put them through a thorough test, riding through mud and water crossings, as well as deep sand and hard-packed rocky footing, day after day on many multi-day rides. I like that he gets to be barefoot between competitions. This has worked out so well that I plan on keeping him (as well as all of my other horses) barefoot and using the Epics to condition and compete. They are the greatest!"
